In this Founders Spotlight we caught up with Jeisha Marquez, COO of Ceemingly, Bringing the Hiring Process to Life.

1.Why do you do what you do for a living?
I’m incredibly proud of the brand my team and I have built with Ceemingly. I envision it growing and positively transforming the hiring process for future generations. I’m constantly analyzing everything I hear, breaking it down, and seeking ways to improve. I’m dedicated to finding practical solutions to problems, ensuring fairness for everyone involved. I believe in the power of unity and teamwork, and I find great satisfaction in witnessing positive, engaging interactions between applicants and employers. It’s fulfilling to know that we’re creating meaningful change, offering hope, and reducing costs for both sides. At the heart of it all, I see hiring as a relationship—one where applicants make life decisions based on the companies they work for, and employers entrust their brand to their employees. If we focus on this relationship and recognize the importance of first impressions, we can begin to see things differently. Ceemingly is making that change a reality.
2. Why did you start your company?
When I was in my mid 20’s I started a business, and it went well, I was happy for a few years until I wanted to expand and grow and realized not matter how hard I tried I wouldn’t be able to due to the industry. The lack of commitment from the employees was outweighing the positives, as small business owner I spent to many hours in hiring and no matter how great the resume seemed the personality did not match. I needed to hire individuals who spoke English, and many would lie on their resume resulting in awkward meetings and negative emotions associated with the interaction. I had contracts with Disney and the client required certain appearance to be on property, that’s when I thought about CEEMINGLY! I said this process of waiting for applicants to come in and not being able to see them or hear them before I schedule an interview is not working out. I spent some time designing a system that would completely change the way we hire integrating a two-way search directory and video the two things the industry lacks, and the result is Ceemingly!
3. What is one of the greatest lessons you’ve learned from being a Founder/CEO?
2nd Chair’s technology minimizes the probability of AI hallucinations and the potential impact a hallucination might have on the user experience. Its sentence-level citations help attorneys ensure that each sentence is backed by the correct evidence or find the point of confusion if the cited material does not match their expectations. While some companies have one or two aspects of this, the entire collection of citations and the improved ability to audit allow 2nd Chair to empower attorneys to use AI while being compliant with their bar associations.
4. What is one of the greatest lessons you’ve learned from being a Founder/CEO?
There is no progress in the routine, you have to get uncomfortable in order to be successful and its ok to not know everything as long as you know what you don’t want.
5. What is the one piece of advice you would share today with your younger self before you started your company?
Learn economy and learn to say no and cut people off faster from your life who are weighing you down because not everyone that starts with you will finish with you.
