In this week’s spotlight we’re highlighting a throwback Spotlight with Craig Rabin, Invention Coach, Vision 2 Invention.

Why do you do what you do for a living?

As an innovator and educator, my passion lies in guiding people through the journey of transforming ideas into tangible products. From the first spark of inspiration to seeing a product on store shelves, I’m driven by the thrill of creation and empowering others to achieve the same. Whether it’s helping inventors find clarity in their vision or teaching students the art of ideation, the process of turning imagination into impact fuels me every day.

Why did you launch your first invention?

The decision to launch The Airhook and later my invention course stemmed from a deep desire to make things simpler and better—not just for me but for others. Creating The Airhook started as a personal need, but seeing it resonate with thousands of people across 86 countries showed me the power of solving real-world problems. The invention course came later as a way to share what I’ve learned and help others navigate the often-daunting path from ideation to execution.

What is the most innovative way your work solves the problems of your customers?

It’s all about practicality and simplicity. Whether it’s designing a product like The Airhook or creating an educational platform, I focus on user experience and accessibility. For instance, my invention course breaks down complex steps into actionable lessons, enabling aspiring inventors to see results faster. By integrating real-world insights with structured guidance, I aim to solve problems others might overlook—giving people the tools and confidence to bring their ideas to life.

What do you like about NTNW and what does this community mean to you?

Communities like NTNW play a vital role in the success of creators and innovators. The support, connections, and inspiration from like-minded individuals are invaluable, especially in the often-solitary journey of entrepreneurship. For me, it’s a space to exchange ideas, celebrate wins, and learn from challenges—reminding us that while our paths may be unique, we’re never truly alone.

Is there any funny story or specific moment that sparked you to start this company?

It all began with a cramped airplane seat and a tray table that wouldn’t budge. That frustration turned into a lightbulb moment for The Airhook. But the true turning point came during a late-night brainstorm session, surrounded by 3D-printed prototypes scattered across my office. Realizing I could go from concept to creation sparked a chain reaction, ultimately leading me to help others achieve their own “aha” moments.
